MJH is seeking an Associate Editorial Director to oversee the editorial vision for several brands within the Healthcare Specialty Group, a publishing arm focused on providing quality and relevant information for physicians on the frontlines of medicine. This position will lead a team of several editors at varying experience levels in a dynamic fast-faced environment to produce high-quality content that ranges from in-depth clinical reviews to business management tips.

** The position is located in Cranbury, NJ**



  • Develop and implement strategic plans for editorial coverage of breaking news and events.
  • Inspire and develop creative editorial campaigns that create buzz, engage the medical community, grow social media presence, and build brand loyalty.
  • Manage copy development from concept to publication, including idea generation, copywriting, and quality checks/proofreading.
  • Create SMART individual and group goals that push the team to go above and beyond.
  • Maintain constant contact with the target audience for all print publications to learn interests, communication styles, and needs
  • Ensure brand individuality, excitement, impact, accuracy, and relevance across all published materials.
  • Work across departments to ensure consistent vision in all print, video, and marketing materials.


  • Five to 10 years of editorial or copywriting experience, with 3+ years of managerial experience
  • Prior experience in healthcare publishing and AMA style
  • A highly collaborative team player with a proven track record in effectively directing and managing a team while promoting conceptual thinking and inspiring others
  • Proven success in conceptualizing, developing, and implementing new, innovative ideas
  • A solid understanding of digital media and marketing; an ability and a desire to adapt to the changing landscape of technology
  • Motivated, proactive, highly organized, and able to adapt to changing priorities
