The Medical Writer will have an opportunity to learn about multiple therapeutic areas, travel to medical conferences, interact with leading experts in the medical field. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with team members in creating both print and digital deliverables, including supplements, video productions, and materials for medical advisory board events.


The clinical communications team strives to meet high standards of quality, accuracy, and editorial relevance for our medical publications. This position requires excellent attention to detail; the ability to write, edit, and review clinical manuscripts per American Medical Association (AMA) Manual of Style, integrate the comments of multiple reviewers into manuscripts, and independently develop clinical content.


We are looking for an energetic self-starter who is able develop clinical content on a variety of projects encompassing multiple therapeutic areas. The candidate should be able to work collaboratively with other team members. This role may require up to 10% travel, primarily to medical conferences and advisory board meetings.



Custom content development

  • Perform extensive literature review of various disease states, therapeutic advancements, current research trends and clinical data
  • Develop content outlines, manuscripts, and other materials (i.e., monographs, presentations, video) with strategic alignment of content to the objectives of the activity
  • Review manuscripts at multiple stages to resolve any potential inconsistencies or inaccuracies. Ensure scientific/clinical accuracy and relevance for target audiences
  • Independently address and incorporate client, peer review, and faculty author feedback on manuscript during development process


  • Ensure scientific/clinical accuracy of all pieces through global fact-check of referenced literature
  • Review and edit publication articles and layouts of supplementary content to identify inconsistences to finalize for print
  • Ensure publications are styled to AMA and in-house editorial style

Medical meeting assistance

  • Client-centered research for potential consultants, key opinion leaders in the healthcare industry, and delivery of appropriate contact information for advisory board recruitment
  • Advisory board attendance and production of executive summary for client
  • Represent company's publications at meetings and conferences
  • Produce high-quality editorial materials for publication (i.e., articles, presentations, whitepapers) based on meeting coverage; ensure relevance for client and target audience



  • College or advanced degree in a scientific/medical discipline
  • At least 3 years related writing experience (grant preparation, biomedical research, medical education, medical writing, or similar field)
  • Understanding of AMA style, familiarity with client medical/legal review processes
  • Knowledge of PDF mark-up features of Adobe Acrobat and InCopy preferred
