**This position is located on-site in Cranbury, NJ**




The Director of Healthcare Specialty Professional Relations is a corporate position responsible for developing strong faculty relationships to convert them to advocates or ambassadors of the MJH healthcare specialty business units. This executive is expected to maintain a high level of field activity at specialty conferences, offices and hospital centers of KOLs, and in social venues to develop advocates of the MJH healthcare specialty (HCP) franchises including MD MAG®, PER® Medical, and MH Communications.
Success Measurement:
1. Determined by the number and quality of KOL conversions from physician participant to advocate that sells on behalf of our HCP franchises and product lines. Expectations include 75 new ambassadors/advocates in first 12 months, with a focus on cardio-metabolic and psychiatry/neurology specialists. Effectively demonstrate how the ambassadors supported our HCP franchises in driving revenue, partnerships, program development, and networking other ambassadors into the same role.
2. Recruit and support HCP live events such as PER Medicals Cardio or MD MAG State of Science Summits by personally succeeding at achieving minimum of 25 HCPs for each.
3. Create 5 new revenue generating opportunities in first 12 months.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


1. Protocol:

  • The following protocol is expected to be followed in the prospecting and development of ambassadors.
  • Meet ambassador prospects at an MD MAG Peer Exchange, PER conference or other opportunity that initiates process.
  • Visit prospect at their office or hospital setting to present MJH corporate portfolio, offer additional opportunity to be part of another HCP program such as PER Medical conference or MJH Studios event, and enlist their assistance in speaking up on our behalf with their colleagues and pharma contacts. Provide talking points if needed.
  • Call to action through follow-up phone call, email and visit at next venue.
  • Manage program through grid system of touches (phone calls and visits), PubMed mentions, YouTube appearances, number of MJH program participations. Develop and monitor report that demonstrates revenue generated by ambassador intervention and related expenses to the process per physician ambassador.
  • Ensure transition of ambassador relationships to sales and content staff as required.
  • Initiate and ensure social activities with ambassadors such as dinner meetings, ballgames, and other opportunities that allow for deepening relationships.

2. Target List:

  • Executive will develop an ambassador list and to build on with new physician oncology KOLs to work with that are not currently ambassadors. New physician targets are to be coordinated with priority targets developed through discussion with the following key colleagues in the MD MAG and PER business units:
    • Mike Hennessy, Jr., President, MJH
    • Dave Heckard, President, PER Medical
    • David Lepping, Vice-President, Integrated Oncology Special Projects
    • Gabby Cruze, Business Development, PER Medical
    • Silas Inman, Director, HCP Editorial
    • Tom Castles, Managing Editor, MD MAG
    • Colin Fishbein, Manager, Strategic Alliance Partnerships
  • Expectation is to convert 75 new physician KOL prospects to ambassador status in first 12 months by contributing to discussions and meetings that allow for ambassadors to intervene on behalf of our products and initiatives.
  • Assume the lead in selective scenarios authorized by the President to handle existing ambassadors with tasks as needed.

3. Support Sales and Business Development Executives:

  • Probe to find specific KOL/Ambassador challenges with sales executives or program development executives and intervene to create successful outcome. Gain feedback from Ambassadors on specific programs they have participated in to improve our product offerings and report back to key executives where applicable.
  • Discover KOL/Ambassador identified educational gaps. Work to understand how resources at MJH could be utilized to address educational gaps in cohort with KOL/Ambassador continued engagement.

4. Product expertise:

  • Executive is expected to learn all MJH HCP franchise product line attributes and develop internal relationships with sales, business development, editorial, and other key personnel of the units

5. Develop new business concepts:

  • From ambassador interactions develop new business opportunities to the MJH HCP franchises through frequent communication with the key executives of each business unit. These efforts should result in a trickle-down effect that permeates the organization.
  • Use pharma network to assist business development teams with competitive intelligence, drug development knowledge, and sales where applicable.

6. Ambassador Boards and Chairs:

  • When applicable, ensure successful development and execution of MJH HCP franchise physician Boards and PER Chairs including PER Executive Board, conference chairs, MD MAG advisory boards, and others

7. Strategic Alliance Partnerships (SAP):

  • Work closely with MD MAG - SAP personnel to blend ambassador relationships with SAP goals and objectives. Expectations include maintaining a high-level field presence at hospital centers, attend all relevant internal business meetings remotely and provide necessary reporting as required.

8. Field Work and MJH Office Visibility:

  • Achieve 7-10 meetings/month at KOL offices and non-PER conferences of prospects such as AHA, ACC, ADA, APA, AAN.
  • Attend all PER Medical conferences and actively participate in physician/ambassador discussions. This includes sitting in all sessions in front row visible position as well as social functions. Besides ensuring our ambassadors are receiving first class service and building personal relationships with them, the Director is expected to support the PER President and MD MAG key executives.
  • Attend relevant meetings with associates at pharmaceutical clients where required.
  • Visit NJ offices one week (5 days) per month (if utilizing home office of more than 60 miles from Cranbury); if within 60 miles visit home office base daily as able.
  • Attend and participate in all sales and business development meetings, and corporate executive meetings upon request (Executive is expected to be on TV camera when not able to attend in person).
