The Copy Editor assists Continuing Education (CE)/Continuing Medical Education (CME) project managers and clinical editors with the process of developing clinically oriented content, publications, and other projects.



  • Manuscript editing/proofreading: Perform copyediting of manuscripts for adherence to organization and style guidelines. Ensure consistency of clinical CE/CME manuscripts with respect to formatting, reference and fact checking, and style. Proofread page layouts at each stage through final, and proof materials for CE/CME courses.
  • Managing of references and permissions: Research and retrieve literature needed for project content development; manage internal library of resources. Request and track permissions and references as needed.
  • Electronic revisions: Make electronic revisions of content within multiple electronic formats; for example, PowerPoint and InCopy.
  • Content development: Research or summarize medical news or project information for different deliverables such as emails and newsletters.


    • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university and preferred 1 year of editorial experience, preferably in the medical publishing industry.
    • Understanding of CE/CME, experience with biomedical content, knowledge of AMA Manual of Style and medical terminology a plus.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, InCopy, Outlook), and able/adept to perform research/literature searches.
    • Must possess a high degree of organization, and be able to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments.
Ability to collaborate and communicate well with a team and to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
