Assistant Web Editor, Targeted Onc

The Web Editor requires someone with top-notch writing skills, capable of quickly turning around professionally written articles for a physician audience. This position will help generate daily content for TargetedOnc.com, post social media updates, attend medical conferences, and write/edit articles for a group of oncology publications. Additional responsibilities include proofreading email newsletters and interviewing oncology professionals. Travel is required. Publishing experience and familiarity with medical/oncology terminology and AMA style helpful.



  • Identify breaking oncology news relevant to oncology professionals and write search engine optimized articles daily
  • Keep current on developments and trends in oncology and healthcare
  • Summarize/expand key points from video content in short-form articles
  • Work with editorial team to develop compelling content for physicians and nurses, including special features, website highlights, conference coverage, and videos interviews
  • Post and edit content for website using content management system
  • Help maintain social media accounts and develop compelling email subjects/content
  • Able to travel 15% of the time to attend professional conferences and film physicians
  • Attend major oncology meetings to report relevant findings and conduct video interviews


  • Minimum of BA/BS or equivalent editing/journalism experience
  • 1+ years writing/publishing experience, preferably healthcare-related (will consider entry level candidates)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong typing and computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, fluid environment, meeting tight deadlines and high expectations
  • Familiarity with medical/oncology terminology, AMA Style, and search engine optimization techniques a plus
