The Editor position is responsible for the day-to-day management and growth of the Dentist's Money Digest (DMD) editorial properties which provide personal- and professional-focused financial information to their audiences. Responsibilities include content development and curation, social media management, and creation of offshoot programs and content.


Additional responsibilities include creating email newsletters and interviewing healthcare and finance professionals as well as other content matter experts. Travel is required (about 10% to attend conferences). Publishing experience and familiarity with dental/veterinary terminology and AMA style helpful.



  • Content management:
    • Create (in conjunction with staff, freelance writers and contributors) news and feature article content relevant to the target audience and aligned with the editorial mission of each; ensure content is search engine-optimized and posted on a regular basis to meet established goals
    • Create content-based “push” e-mails (breaking or trending) and distribute to meet established goals
    • Create content-based e-mail newsletters and distribute to meet established goals
  • Social media management: Post entries to DMD accounts on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn in alignment with established goals
  • Reporting: 
    • Provide weekly reports on website traffic and social media status to team leadership
  • Editorial advisory board:
    • Maintain regular communication (at least once per month) with advisory board
    • Identify/add/rotate board members based on direction of team leadership


  • Minimum of BA/BS or equivalent editing/journalism experience
  • 3+ years writing/publishing experience, preferably healthcare or finance related
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong typing and computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, fluid environment, meeting tight deadlines and high expectations
  • Familiarity with medical/financial terminology, AP/AMA Style, and search engine optimization techniques a plus
