Responsibilities

The Director of CME/CE will maintain the PER's status as an accredited provider of continuing medical and nursing education; develop and maintain the CME/CE compliance program and written policies and procedures for PER that demonstrate compliance with ACCME and CBRN guidelines. The Director will additionally ensure the successful EACCME and other international accreditation for PER's global CME/CE activities and seek additional domestic accreditations (AANP and AAPA) on an activity or programmatic basis as directed. The Director will apply and obtain approvals for Maintenance of Certification points for applicable activities through the American Board of Radiology and American Board of Internal Medicine (and others as directed) and provide required reporting to these organizations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the PER's status as an accredited CME provider with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education and an approved nursing CE provider with the California Board of Registered Nursing (lead reaccreditation efforts including self-study development and activity file preparation as well as submission to accreditation agencies)
  • Provide strategic direction for PER's CME/CE Compliance Program
  • Manage all aspects of PER's CME/CE Compliance Program, including conducting regular reviews, reporting, and activity documentation maintenance
  • Maintain and update written CME/CE and compliance policies and procedures for PER
  • Develop/update, and disseminate all applicable CME/CE policies and provide related staff training
  • Work with PER's Medical Affairs team to ensure delivery of compliant, fair-balanced educational content that adheres to internal and external CME/CE policies and guidelines.
  • Provide input for educational grant proposals as needed (educational design and compliance policies and procedures)
  • Work with educational partners (joint- and co-providers) and ensure collaborative agreements are developed and maintained for all jointly- and co-provided CME/CE initiatives.
  • Review marketing materials, course syllabi, and online activities to ensure compliance with ACCME, CBRN, and regulatory guidelines
  • Assist with processing requests for credit from attendees/participants as needed
  • Regularly attend/participate in applicable industry meetings (ACEhp, CBI, ACCME) to maintain professional development

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of directly-related work experience, which includes work related to developing certified continuing education(CME/CE) activities in an accredited (ACCME, ANCC, or ACPE) organization
  • Direct experience with CME/CE accreditation process required
  • Strong analytical skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, demonstrated writing abilities (writing samples requested)
  • Exceptional communication, organization and interpersonal skills
  • Direct management experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Formal CME training and/or certifications (CHCP credential preferred)
