The Assistant Editor, Speciality Pharmacy Times position will be responsible for providing coverage of the fast growing field of specialty pharmacy and the ramifications on patients and insurance companies from pharmaceutical drug spending. The assistant editor position requires outstanding writing, research and organizational skills, to quickly investigate and write articles that present evidence-based medical and insurance analysis for a professional audience.  The assistant editor will also be responsible for utilizing various social media channels to promote content, build engagement, and develop relationships with industry stakeholders for both Specialty Pharmacy Times and The American Journal of Pharmacy Benefits.



  • Researching, writing, and posting timely and relevant news for print and online outlets
  • Interviewing industry experts and insiders for articles
  • Covering industry conferences and events
  • Recruiting, filming, editing, and formatting high-quality video interviews
  • Putting together email newsletters and tracking metrics
  • Growing an audience on social media and engaging with readers through various social media outlets.


  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university and at least 1 year of editorial experience, preferably in medical/scientific publishing
  • Experience with video interviewing, filming, editing, and formatting
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments with tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with online content management systems and strong computer skills
  • Knowledge of AMA style is a plus
