  • Responsibilities

    As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the accounts payable subsidiary ledger by posting invoices using a voucher entry system, and assisting with preparing a computer generated check run on a weekly basis.  In addition, this position will assist the Controller with the reconciliation of the A/P Ledger and the Open A/P Report. 



    • Receive and prepare invoices and check requests for entry into the accounts payable system
      • Open A/P mail daily
      • Receive invoices
      • Manage coding processing in Accounting drive folders
      • Input coded and approved into AP system
    • Process invoices
      • Input coded and approved invoices into AP system
      • Route checks with backup for approval (VP of Finance)
      • Manage check signature process
      • Log all outgoing checks
    • Other
      • Resolve any franchise and/or vendor discrepancies or invoice payment inquiries
      • Deposit checks
      • Digitally file invoices, related correspondence and account information
      • Generate weekly Open A/P report
      • Blank W-9 to all new vendors and update vendor file when W-9 is returned
      • Assist annually in preparing the 1099 MISC reports with the Controller
      • Special projects and tasks as may be necessary to support management decision making
      • Perform other duties as assigned


    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
    • 1-3 years of experience in collections or a similar role
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
    • Ability to deal with vendors in a polite and professional manner
    • Excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy
    • Working knowledge in Excel and Microsoft Word
    • Demonstrate organizational skills and numerical aptitude
